Chain of Fools recently celebrated a big anniversary! I can’t believe it’s been 10 years, they grow up so fast…

In the decade that I’ve been Fooling around with bikes, I’ve seen some trends in the industry, in Martinsville/Henry County, and in my shop specifically. What these trends have shown me, is that our hometown definitely needs a friendly way to get a bicycle serviced, but doesn’t necessarily need a store offering a wide variety of bikes, or dozens of different colors of grips. Besides, selling product was never my favorite part of the business anyway; I would rather be fixing a mountain bike that a customer needs to get to work, or upgrading a road bike so an enthusiast can ride their first Century Ride (yes people really do ride 100 miles in a single day!).

With that realization, I shut down my retail storefront at the beginning of 2025, and changed my business model to be primarily Service-Oriented. If you want to get your bike serviced, I want to come get it from you at the most convenient place for YOU! I will meet you at any of the local Dick & Willie Trailheads in MHC for no charge, or will come to your house for a small fee. Just call, email, or reach out on Facebook to schedule an appointment!

Pricing is similar to what I was charging before, with the addition of the Concierge Service! I will come to your home or office, or really anywhere else that’s convenient for you, for $40, and if you’re having me do a tuneup, or any 4 a la carte services, I’ll knock that down to $20.
